My name is Maria del Mar but I'm just called Maria. My name originates from Spain and means Mary from the Sea.

My parents were both from Madrid, where I myself lived for different periods, but I was born and currently live in Stockholm.

My path into goldsmithing began with a one-year art course, then a design education, and several silversmithing courses. Already at the first silversmithing course I was completely hooked! Working with metal and three-dimensional was clearly my thing!
I have now been a goldsmith for almost 30 years. I have just over four years of goldsmith training from the Goldsmiths College in Copenhagen. Where I spent some of the funnest years of my life and made friends for life! I have been apprenticed to fantastic people as well as professionals.

In 2019, I opened my own current workshop/studio, which I have long dreamed of.

As a goldsmith, being able to give joy to other people through the love and care that I put into every piece of jewelry I make, and then being able to meet and see the joy of others is a favor in my profession that I love.

Part of my inspiration and drive comes from being able to create memories for life that are permanent, and the meetings with my often returning customers through the various stages of life. And being part of their visions and dreams inspires and enriches me both as a person and as a goldsmith.
